Don’t Lose Faith In The Gouda…

Finally, the new Vampire Weekend has arrived. Contra sounds just as light-hearted and fun as its predecessor, but with a bit different instrumentation. Here’s a couple of my faves…

Vampire Weekend – California English

Vampire Weekend – Taxi Cab

Bahaha! Nice picture. Looks like someone raided my brothers wardrobe.

California English is one of my favourites, too. I heard an acoustic version on our indie station here, I must try to look for it.

Yeah, I figured it would be a fun spoof of the pop collar girl on the album cover.

Oooh, I’d like to hear that too.

My mistake, I was thinking about “California English Part.2″ the b-side to “Cousins.” I just listened to it again, I don’t know why I thought it was acoustic. Too much rain and late night driving has gotten to me. Anyway, both CE and CE Part 2 are good. :) Perhaps acoustic versions will surface down the line…

Ah. Probably if those boys know what good for ‘em.

I was just reading on Stereogum that they did an MTV unplugged, so perhaps acoustic versions will start to surface now. Links didn’t work outside the US, but I’m sure they sounded good. ;)
